The Great Falls Police Department has a colorful history in our area. I have lived in Great Falls for a little over 25 years and during this time I have seen more criminals within the department and as the Chief of Police than I have seen caring, concerned law abiding police officers. We have had a few, but for some unknown reason, our council has continuously hired Police Chiefs that have been morally corrupt and usually criminal in nature. I am sincerely hoping that by highlighting these facts, our Town Council will in fact take care and concern when they place individuals in positions of authority that carry a badge and a weapon in our community.
When I first came here, Chief Brown within a couple of years was pushed out and given probation due to him allegedly keeping double books. The first time I walked into the very small station, I was shocked by the picture hanging on the wall, making it the first thing you saw when entering; a picture of Chief Brown proudly walking the KKK down our main road through town. I remember thinking how uncomfortable a large portion of people in this community must feel and I wondered then, how difficult did this department make their lives. I would soon find out that the police department was a weapon against the citizens and was wielded unjustly the majority of the time. 25 years later not a lot has changed, except that picture no longer hangs on the wall and we are on our third police chief since October 2024, it’s January 2025 that I’m doing this page.
The very first accusation of police brutality was seen in an online magazine and their investigation into it was met with great resistance, mostly from fear of reprisal from the local authorities. An article that describes the magazines investigation into the allegation of police brutality is below. We have had so many bad Police Chiefs that I’m only going to highlight a few of them.

November 2024 Council Meeting was truly exciting. Angie Black resigned on the spot knowing the Mayor’s family members were threatening a member of the community because they hired the new police chief without doing interviews and hired an officer that has held 3 positions in 3 years, which is how long she’s been in the LAE FIELD.
